It was reported by the Star Tribune, Minnesota’s number one local source for news, that Allina Health has suspended its policy regarding denying services to patients that owe large debts in unpaid medical bills. Allina Health is a nonprofit health system that cares for individuals, families, and communities throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
Minnesota bankruptcy attorney Margaret Henehan, of Kain+Henehan law firm, was interviewed and asked to comment on this policy suspension. Allina Health was denying clinic care for unpaid medical bills that they considered large.
